Producing a good crop of large, red fruits in September and October, the fruits of this plant are full-to-bursting with delicious edible seeds which boast a fabulously zingy sweetness.
The pomegranate plant bears glossy green, deciduous leaves (which first emerge with a bronzish tint) and vibrant, funnel-shaped flowers in spring and early summer. These flowers are usually red-orange in colour but can sometimes also be pink, white and even variegated!
