This popular variety has been bred to combine the texture and productivity of ‘Conference’ with the decadent, gourmet taste of ‘Doyenné du Comice’
Perfectly suited to the UK climate, ‘Concorde’ is able to grow well in colder, more exposed locales
This doesn’t lead to a compromise on flavour, though, with fine-tasting, honeyed fruits cropping late in the season towards the end of October
One of the best keeping pears – pick them just before they're ripe and you can store them right the way through until January
Yields double the crop of both its parent trees; in fact, you can expect a good crop within just two years
